Customer support software for small teams
When one person handles support on top of everything else, you need software that fields replies for you, not software that charges extra for the privilege. miniDesk targets teams of one through five: AI-generated responses, a shared inbox, live chat, all under one fixed monthly cost.
One person, one inbox, one fixed cost
Most helpdesk tools assume a per-seat budget. A solo founder or pair pays the same per-agent rate as a fifty-person department yet handles far fewer conversations, so the value per dollar drops. miniDesk prices per workspace, not per head. The free tier covers one seat; Starter covers five. No per-seat line on the invoice.
AI that fields replies for you
Small teams cannot staff the inbox around the clock. miniDesk's AI scans your documents and resolved threads, responds in whatever language the customer used, and escalates to a human with a suggested reply when it feels uncertain. Toggle it per workspace, flip it off whenever you want. Every automated response is marked as AI and stored in the log.
Everything included, even on the free plan
The free tier runs the identical software as the paid tiers. AI replies, shared inbox, live chat, knowledge base, copilot, REST API, MCP server. You move up for higher volume and more seats, never to unlock a gated feature. Nothing built on the free tier needs rebuilding after an upgrade.
- 75 AI conversations a month on the free plan
- 1 seat included, no per-seat charge
- A small powered by miniDesk mark on the live chat
- No card required to start
Growth does not move the bill
Starter runs $39 a month for 5 seats and 375 AI conversations. Growth is $99 a month for 15 seats and 2,250 AI conversations. Pricing steps up by tier, not by individual. Bringing someone aboard inside your seat cap leaves the invoice untouched. A team scaling from 1 to 5 people shifts from Free to Starter, and the cost holds at $39.
miniDesk Starter, one flat price per workspace, sized by the 375 AI conversations you set above. The others are priced on the cheapest tier that fits these seats and has an AI agent answering customers, at their month-to-month rate wherever they publish one, because we sell no annual plan to hold an annual rate against. Chatwoot and tawk.to both meter the AI by the message rather than by the conversation, counted here at 3 messages in each one, which is our assumption and not a rate either of them publishes. It covers what their AI writes to a customer, and Chatwoot bills its copilot, summaries, reply suggestions and transcription from the same credits with none of those counted. Their tier is the cheapest one that keeps conversations as long as the plan on the left, because the $19 Startups tier keeps them for a year. They publish only an annual rate, so their column is that; every other one is cheaper on a yearly commitment.
Intercom and Zendesk charge for the outcome rather than the attempt, at $0.99 and $1.50 a resolution on top of the seat, and both are costed above with the AI settling every conversation it answers. Crisp bills every conversation Hugo touches, Freshchat every session, tawk.to every message its AI writes, settled or not. Ours is the flat plan price whatever the AI does with them.
One price. All of customer support.
Start free, no card. When you upgrade, every feature is included, rather than a starting point with a list of add-ons to buy.
